Feeling really torn between fed loans and private loans for my MBA. Rates are better (and no origination fee) with private and very likely won’t take advantage of the protections offered with fed loans— but after seeing how uncertain the world can be with COVID/financial crisis, it does make me take pause. Should I just do federal and then refinance after working for a bit post-grad when I’m feeling more stable/secure in my finances/career?

Fed loans- ole Joe will wipe those out soon 😉

I have a feeling MBA grads with six figure salaries are not gonna be included in that 😞they’re not a sympathetic bunch

I did ~ 50/50 for undergrad (not a conscious decision, just happened that way). My private loans had much better leniency with the COVID impacts. Interest rates sitting at 0% through September 2023. Fed loans start accruing interest again in November of this year.

like

you can split your loan amount between federal and private (and then refinance). this would lower the origination fee for the federal right bc its based on percent of loan right? also remember that interest on loans accrues in grad school.

Estimated tax payment question:
I converted $30k of rollover 401k into a Roth IRA and have $26k of realized ST Capital Gains this year (Roth conversion in end of Q1 and most capital gains in Q2).
My total federal withholding tax last year was approximately $12k and this year I will have 40% more in reported income on my employer W2 and anticipate higher that $12k federal withholding for my new job. I’m a MRI technologist with bachelors in radiologic science. My goal is to become epic analyst. I do have a proficiency in Radiant. However, I am not having much luck with any applications. Almost all the postings require actual certification or build experience. I am thinking that I may have to go back to school. My options are either go for masters or go for another bachelors in IT/computer science. What could be my other options? Thank you.

When do you know you've toured enough houses and should pick one from the list you've got? I've seen probably 15-20 homes, and put in one offer. How many homes should you tour minimum, and how many offers did you put in before you closed? I don't want to be too hasty and choose something just because, but I also think continuing to see homes isn't really making my decision any easier. Thanks!
