I have been at A23 for a while (7+ years) and truly consider it to be the best in the business. People work hard to produce the best work, but also balance (as best as possible in the industry) to strike a work life balance.
BI is a tough one…the client and the internal leads on that are pretty harsh
I have heard really good things about them. I had a friend who worked there and she said the culture and wlb are great. She also said the benefits are good.
Thank you everyone! I accepted the offer. Please note, not a creative.
Be warned, creative rules here which is great, but there’s a creative bully who gets away with treating account people terrible bc she wins awards. You’ll find out quickly who she is
It all depends on the team. Some are more of a grind than others.
Bowl Leader
Seconding this.
There’s some real good people at the agency, and you’ll likely get a few portfolio pieces out of your tenure there.
Also agree with Copy Sup 1 on “it depends on the team.” Also depends on the brand and the budget you’re working with. And yes to the ACD, there are many good and talented people at A23. If you’re a creative, there is an environment that wants you to thrive. But like any pharma shop, the work and the hours can get hectic sometimes. The question is…what are you looking for in an agency and what do you want to accomplish career-wise?
Area23 is far better in every way than TBWA. I worked at TBWA/Worldheath and was fortunately scouted by Area23. It is 20 to 30k more in salary and unlimited PTO! Plus, the benefits even include pet insurance and acupuncture. We are also not ever going back to the office and remaining remote. So far, it is perfect and I am so glad I made the move.
Have you worked with the people who win awards?? Our team only works 80 hours a week. I’m on a team that wins awards
We also just won best Large Healthcare Agency of the year and won tons of awards at MM+M a couple months ago. I feel blessed to work at Area23!
I worked with a nightmare creative lead. No award in the world could justify how she treated the team - she was a nightmare and a bully, but won awards so they said it was ok.
