What negative stereotypes about engineers are more true than we'd like to admit? What can do to remove these negative traits?

I think because we are so analytical and logical we can be socially awkward or come off as condescending. Working on soft skills like communication can help with that. I don't think we mean to come off the way we do but when you're working on perfecting something for 40 hours a week it can affect you.

👆 This. Soft skills, full not blunt and direct to the point communication is the things that divide the engineers from the engineering managers and directors. Being blunt and straight to the point is a solid skill when it's called for but is a double-edged sword when it's unwarranted and hurts you more than helps. The biggest thing engineers can learn is to reed the atmosphere and know when to turn it on and when to turn it off. You aren't drafting blueprints to your life....

I’m accustomed to keeping my students’ IEP folders in my classroom & being held responsible for their safekeeping. Now in a new district, I found that the Case Manager keeps all district IEPs in her office. We have to submit our updates & progress notes to her. And we have to make a planning period appointment with her to come look at any IEP folders. How does your district deal with IEP folder custody?

Happy Thursday 🐠

Hi All-
Need a suggestion. H1 maxing out in sept 2021.
Got a job offer from small consulting firm (<200 people) and they are ready to file my GC from day1. About to resign in next couple of weeks once I receive my h1 approval.
But Deloitte sent a notification that they are restarting Perm process. Currently with Deloitte - nothing has been filed. They have the JD and all the documents from my side but haven’t filed pwd yet. Stay or move out .?
