After food and everything I basically have zero leftover.
I live alone in nyc. I’m 38 and just can’t imagine having a roommate at this point.
Luckily I have a side gig that earns around $30,000/year so I use that for savings and extras.
Even with that, I’m paying too much in rent.

I use 1/3 of my apartment for my home office, so I pay 1/3 of my rent from my business account, and the rest from personal.

When I lived in the city I paid 30% for rent. After working remote and leaving the city I now pay 20% for a mortgage.

what's your salary and neighborhood?? I live in NYC, lived in almost every borough the past 4 years, and any apartment I've ever lived in regardless of roommates was at LEAST 40% of my monthly pay.
