SDs from EYP. Would you consider jumping to MBBs given a choice? I am currently happy in my role, with team / comp, low travel post covid and 2 years away from partnership. Been reached out for later roles (ie non equity Partner roles at MBB). I don’t see a big financial upside as well with cash comp at this level, so will likely be a longer term play for equity partner/ MD. EY-Parthenon

I buy ihg points whenever there is a 100% bonus. I use those points to stay at the Kimpton Seafire Grand Cayman which goes anywhere from $500-2000/nt for a basic room depending on the time of year. Just purchased 210k points for $1050. With the 4th night free benefit I’ll be staying at an AAA 5 diamond resort over Christmas with a going rate of around $2k a night for $262/night. As for airline miles, Avianca often offers 100%+ bonuses where you can purchase Lifemiles and redeem for partner flights like Lufthansa first at great rates and without the fuel surcharges.
This guy knows the game!
Never bought them directly. Even when they’re on sale, they cost more than they’re worth.
IMO the only reason to would be to buy up just enough if you’re points balance is a little shy. For example if your flight needs 60k points, but you only have 59k
Unless there's some type of huge sale/bonus structure, it's rarely worth it to buy points or miles unless you're close to an award.
