A warning, i have been phished through the premise of a job interview.thats definitely a new low from scammers but verify interviews they plucked my info from indeed and through that got my info, when I got suspicious (after it was too late) I called the "hiring company" (was a real company) and they said i wasn't the only one getting duped. Question for senior tax managers, tax directors, and higher in public accounting. Have you seen managers or senior managers in PA hired in tax who you feel know very little for the position, or does this happen only very rarely or never in your opinion?

Am I understanding utilization rate correctly? It’s chargeable time over total time? Charged 40 hours and had 10 hours non-charge so my utilization is 80%? If so, wouldn’t it benefit me to understate non-charge hours so my utilization is higher since they only really care about chargeable time anyways? Charge 40 hours still but only put 5 hours non-charge for utilization to be 89% instead of 80%? Or am I misunderstanding how utilization works?

Intl Tax folks, how long did it take before you were confident in your role? I need some advice. I have some co workers that are really disgruntled and complain about their jobs a lot to me. It really bring me down and makes it hard for me to work because I get constant messages about how much they hate it here. I’m friends with them outside of work so I don’t want to explode on them. How common is it for first year associates to spin wheels? In my 4th month, I spent 6 hours doing a return with 3 K-1 royalties, 2 Schedule C with few expenses, and the usual 1099-DIV/INT, including consolidated 1099. Budgeted time was 5 hours total. I have yet to get my return reviewed.
