Rising Star
Usually criminal and employment histories. Sometimes credit.
Ok
They have gone hyper with background checks because of what Biden did … letting all of the illegal aliens across the border
and flooding our country.
That’s why the job market is absolutely hellacious right now and that’s why there’s absurd questioning that was never questioned before.
A lot of them probably don’t even do the background check.
But if you’re a tried and true born American, you’ve got nothing to worry about.
Unless you’re doing something dishonest, which most of us are not…
we’re just innocent bystanders getting run over by the bus so to speak !
Generally, and most often they don’t even do it. It’s done to scare the nasties away.
👍
Thanks!
My general thing with attorneys is if you can pass character and fitness you are probably fine. I think the background check consent form should tell you specifically what they are pulling, but that may be company/state based. Typically we pull criminal records, sometimes for more in depth we do employment and education verification. In banks weve done credit checks.
Got it. They asked me to provide consent for a vendor to do the background check
Criminal background check, reference checks, employment and education verifications are the most common and in my experience background checks aren’t typically done until the post offer stage - meaning the offer is pending successful completion of background check so it’s at the end of the hiring process.
Verification of employment history typically has to be done through the former employer’s HR, with some alternative methods such as providing w-2s or pay stubs for your current employer, if you haven’t yet given notice.
Some roles will do a credit check as well.
Thanks
