Not if you join one of our lovely SDCs where you spend at least 4 years at staff 😊
2 years as Staff
3 years as Senior
3-4 years as Manager depending on practice
5-8 years as SM before promotion to ED/ Partner, assuming you make it that far
Oh I haven’t seen anyone make that promo yet because everyone keeps leaving but SDC is Service Delivery Center
That whole career progression is a bunch of semantics. Just because you work of certain time frame doesn’t mean you will even get promoted or that you have the skills needed for the level. While I worked at ey I saw many people that seemed inept at doing their job from various levels including senior manager and above. the focus should be not skill set and not number of years for career progression
Most practices are 3 years from M to SM. PPED there isn’t a standard answer
What kind of work schedule does the SDC have? Do they have busy season hours too? Curious
SDC is 3 years as staff unless you’re not ready for Senior than you’re 4 years Staff but with SDC being relatively newer, I’ve not seen anyone go 4 years on Staff as of now
What’s SDC?
EY3, what does SDC do?
Our focus is managed services which is pretty much selling a product (service) to a client with the intentions of having the sold work lasting longer than your typical engagement. But right now we pretty much do what advisory does but get paid less than half of they make. But we don’t have to travel (even though some of us do) or have to do BD work (which we also do) lol
Paid less sounds like it’s slightly lesser. More like 1/10th.
