Nice! Places like Lower Haight, Hayes Valley, Mission, North Beach, NoPa will all be fun and cool. Should be able to find a 1bed for around 3500. Places like Pac Heights will be much nicer and much more expensive. Avoid the marina and cow hollow, unless you are into “basic” things. Sunset and Richmond would get you more space but it’s far
Cost of living went up almost 2x from NYC for me. I’d say 160-180K would be a good target.
No car. But I’m paying more in rent to live in a more walkable area central to transit (BART/MUNI). Having a car in SF is a nightmare with parking alone costing upwards of $500/month. Not to mention constant break-ins. Honestly not worth the hassle unless you find a place with a garage included
Don’t bring a car here. If you can get 150+ you should feel okay!
@seniorstrategist1 Thanks so much. This is helpful context. Did you have to get a car as well?
Ok signed the offer! Thank you for the gut check. Next on the list good neighborhoods I should consider. It’s two of us. @artdirector1 @seniorstrategist1 what neighborhoods would you recommend
