SAVE AND INVEST EARLY

It can not be stated enough how important the idea of compounding interest is

I was so lucky I had a father who looked into the financial aspects of retirement. He attended seminar’s about the topic and he taught me to start right out the gate saving in my 401k. I have a very nice retirement and I am way ahead of my peers. I started putting in 20% when I was still living with my parents and never put in less than 10% of my salary when I moved out on my own. I cannot stress enough how happy you will be for your sacrifices today when you look back and you are closer to retirement! You will thank yourself over and over again.

Sometimes people are money pits too, can be a man or a woman, do not date them. It will constantly drain you and you'll wonder why you're financially struggling till you finally dump them.

Buy a house in the best school districts and bitcoin. Max out 401k first day of career. All while documenting it on YouTube and TikTok.

Do you have a brokerage window available in your 401k?

Max out your company 401(k), especially if you have a good matching and vesting program. It’s pretty much free money that you get toward your retirement.

Save. Leave way below your means. Pay your credit cards in full. Pay off higher interest loans. I’m about to be 37 and can retire at 40 if I wanted to.

like

Get the match in the 401k but make sure your putting money outside it too (you don't want to borrow from your 401k to buy a house). I wish this was a thing when I started working - if your young and healthy max out your HSA (first dollar over your 401k match goes here can't beat the triple tax advantage).

Oh and don't buy a house if you can't be there 5+ years (unless you plan on renting it and retaining ownership) transaction fees are brutal.

like

You can take money out of your 401k penalty free if you’re a first time home buyer!

Life's a bit easier with rich parents.

Start your 401k early

A pre-nuptial agreement.
I had to give my ex half of my 401K, plus the house that I totally renovated interior and exterior on nights and weekends.
I did get 2 great kids though.

I am leaving retail pharmacy after 15 years. I am opening a 403b pharmacy for a FQHC. I don't believe that retail pharmacy will be able to sustain itself with patient costs skyrocketing. I think people will become enraged or indifferent enough to allow the federal government to take over healthcare. How many times do we see people getting free prescriptions via government coverage that drive better cars than we do?

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

3.What salary should I target for the above experience and skills.

I was a Manager at a Big4 doing PM fed work earlier this year. I decided to join a small firm to pursue cloud sales. However, the position is extremely technical in nature and I'm required to speak tech ( kubernetes, openshift, CICD) to potential clients.
While I have learned from the exposure, I dont intend to continue in a tech role & looking to exit. I'm thinking of Customer/ Partner Success Manager roles with one of the CSPs. Are there other non tech cloud exit opps in industry to consider?

What is the process for negotiating a job offer (from a firm or otherwise)? Do you have to be ready to ask for more salary/bonus/other perks right when they call you to make the offer, or can you ask for time to consider and then call back with your additional requests? I’m not the best at thinking quickly on the spot, so feel like I could be more thoughtful if I took a day or two to consider my requests.

I really need advice. I’ve been in my current role for a couple years and I’m just so defeated. I am good at my job. I work so hard and I’m so undervalued and unappreciated. My work is scrutinized to a degree that no one else experiences (I could give concrete examples of other people delivering design work that haven’t met BASIC design principles and it’s gotten approved) compared to me where I frequently get feedback that somehow makes my work worse but I just comply because it’s not (1/2)

Very specific to retail and/or hospitality in-house roles: has anyone found a good solution for predictive scheduling? Our retail division has one set of software for scheduling and one for payroll, and neither of them can handle predictive scheduling compliance issues unless they’re used for both the scheduling and payroll functions. I’m coming up empty on ideas for them to bridge the gap, but I’m also new to my compliance counsel role, so I would be overjoyed if anyone has suggestions.
