My base loc is Bengaluru, but currently I am not mandatorily required to work from office, and have been working from home since I joined Deloitte in July. Should I talk to my manager and go back to my hometown Kolkata and work from there? Staying in PG all day and working from here is not quite feasible for me. Suggest pls. Deloitte India

There was no mention of promotion delays because of working from home; checked with my RL and he confirmed. Maybe it’s situational, but please be careful about how you say it. I’d hate for someone not to research the option for themselves because they were worried about causing a delay in their career path.

Personally would be surprised if EY went fully virtual based on the messaging on protecting and rebuilding culture in the regional all hands meetings that have been going on this week - nothing around forcing people back in, but strong subtext that getting together in at least some capacity should be happening
Idk what you’re looking to find? I don’t think any of the firms will hold on to come as you choose much longer?
Also not sure what you’re seeing as different between 1-3 days a week and come as you choose? I imagine you can probably make it less than 1 a week based on your team and office and communication.
As of now you can work at home or in the office if you want.
Its dependent on how you are - if they see you need improvement and you choose virtual - thats not going to look good espically if you started virtual
