Caught my director bad mouthing me to a managing director. She was basically gossiping about me and the team. What should I do?

I’m dealing with a difficult management situation and don’t know what to do, how would you report someone when nobody really cares what’s going on or is automatically going to side with the other person?

I think there should be more males caretakers in this world. Some of my clients just feel more comfortable with a guy and it's kind of sad how often they say I'm the only male they could find.

With me being the only one on my team who doesn’t drink, it causes me to stick out, and others constantly question why I’m not drinking.

Wondering to get some advice on how hard it would be or get an understanding of the market to get back into private accounting/advisory or financial analyst after stepping away for 2.5 years. I was in public accounting for almost 5 years prior and stepped away as a supervising senior in audit for a mid tier firm. Would love to get a chance to connect/network with some people.

Feel like audit scheduling is always done on a knifes edge in that the timeline and staff schedules are enough so that if everyone works 60 hour weeks and no issues are identified then it can be filed on time. But even small things that increase the work can wildly throw off the schedule and cause hours to skyrocket for the staff on the job. No real point here, just ranting.

First year associate here—I got all “developing” on my engagement review from my manager. Is this good? Bad? The options are “needs improvement,” “developing,” and “proficient."

Any one looked at the budget hours and think they were unreal? I am updating the actual hours compared to budget, feel stupid & inefficient when I see I'm so over budget. Or maybe I should eat hours?
