Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

Whatever airline has a hub at your local airport. You'll have access to more flights and be able to your miles easier. Ex: Newark is a major United Hub. There aren't a lot of American or Delta flights.

Also depends on where in NYC you’ll live

Join all of them, fly the one with the most nonstops to where you need to go from your home.
None of the major US airlines or their FFPs are good enough to be worth connecting if another offers a nonstop.
Especially out of NYC where delays are the norm your risk of missing a connection is high.
They are all pretty crappy. Choose the one that is your closest hub airline. That's the one you'll fly the most. Delta has the most on time and lowest number of cancelations if that's something you care about too

Delta has pretty horrible redemption rates. United has star alliance which is great for global travel. American usually doesn’t have great options for travel on its own metal (except for web specials) but some pretty good options to Asia/Middle East/Africa but getting to europe usually has big fees since have to go through London on BA mostly. I’m a United guy and based in nyc. End of the day pick the airline you’re most likely to actually fly
I have flown American for 3 years now and the customer service is great. Based out of DC (hub) so can typically get a flight anywhere. Had success gaining status quickly (estimated 80 flights a year). I will say they just updated their frequent flyer program this year (to make it simpler for users I guess) and I am not sure if I like it. Biggest piece of advice I could give is to get whatever credit card of the airlines you choose and stick with it.
I like American because of the lower international redemption rates, and their business class is usually 1x2x1 instead of competitors’ 2x3x2 etc
Join all of them because you never know what airline you gonna have to fly to where you Are going
Delta for the product. United for the loyalty program. Star Alliance babyyyyyy
This is all great advice! Thanks!!
