I’m leaving a Manager role to take a Director one. They are finalizing the formal offer letter now. I want to leave my current team on good terms, not drop the ball on projects I’m leaving. I’d also like (need) at least a week to refresh and reset and get organized before starting the new director role. I’ve been negotiating terms with the new place since September 3. We agreed on compensation yesterday. Is asking for a Nov 1 start date pressing my luck/being a jerk or totally reasonable?
Is it a red flag to MBA programs to leave my firm after 1-1.5 years without a promotion (promotion would be at 2 YOE)? Would it also be bad if I switched jobs more than once before applying (applying at 3 YOE, will enter school at 4 YOE)?
Selling points of being a CPA and CFE going into Managing Consulting without getting a MBA.
Is it worth it to get a Masters? And if so, HOW worth it? I have gone back and forth about it for a long time and have had very differing opinions from mentors on if it is worth it. Would be pursuing an MBA or a MS in Analytics - I did get my Bachelors in business, so I just don’t know how much it would help...
For benchmarking I think it’d be helpful for all on here to see starting comp. (undergrad or MBA) at top consulting firms: Firm: Base salary: Total possible per. bonus: Profit share: 401K:
Any wharton or Stanford mba grads in the bowl? Applying to MBA programs and would love to get any insight on the process!
What salary can you expect for fed consulting coming out of an MBA program like Georgetown? I know commercial is ~145k base but have no data points on fed salaries.
How much of a total comp increase would you leave consulting for (E.g., 20%, 30%)? Trying to figure out what’s a good offer and tipping point for me.
I got a new offer but in terms & conditions they have written - The company at any point have the rights to review and restructure its compensation package. My concern is this is common in every organisation offer letter. Please clear my doubt.
What kind of consulting do post mba consultants do at EY since Parthenon is blended in now? And what’s a good reason for switching from Deloitte to EY for post mba? TIA
Anyone get promoted mid year After receiving the bonus/review? (No pay increase for the promotion)
Would anyone take a 23% raise and fat signing bonus to go back in title with support for fast track promo? Moving between B4 firms
Would it be crazy to negotiate salary after I’ve already signed the offer? I just resigned and my current agency countered with crazy $$$ and a better title. I still want to make this move but the $$$ from the new spot isn’t that great. I accepted bc of the people / name. I know it shouldn’t be all about the money, but this is really a life-changing amount. I wish I hadn’t signed until after I got the counter from my current employer… live and learn I guess. 🥴
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
What is the appropriate amount of time to follow up with a company after they've verbally told you they would be giving you an offer? I don't want to look desperate as I know that's not great for salary negotiation but it's been a week and I really want to follow up!

How can I accelerate my path to FIRE? Currently making ~$5.2k/month after taxes and send money to the following: - $500 for expenses (living with parents during covid) - $2.7k to max 401k and IRA with mega backdoor contributions - $1.5k towards down payment savings in HYSA - $400 to brokerage account
New role opened that’d I’d much rather be doing (on the same team). But I’ve only been here 5 months, is there any way I could try to transition? Or have I not been here long enough? In Corp. finance
Hey everyone! Recent transplant (26 F) who moved here during Covid (family reasons) so still not quite familiar with the areas. I’m currently living in Brentwood but looking to move. I’m considering Marina Del Rey as I want to be a bit closer to the office (in Venice) and the airport for when things open back up/travel resumes. I tried searching here but didn’t see a lot - what is the reputation of Mar Vista (and if possible - how is that different than Brentwood?). All opinions welcome! 🙂
Consulting exit ops without any quant/tech experience? I keep going to interview after interview where “I’m a great fit” but they are looking for someone who has experience coding or financial modeling. Seems like I’m stuck in consulting forever. 🤦🏼♀️
What % of your salary do you have saved right now? Savings account / checking account count but not stocks/investments, 401(k), etc.

Anybody work at Amazon? Are their offers negotiable? My husband got an offer for a senior position in the VA office paying $120k plus $20k bonus plus 13 shares of stock that vest over 4 years. My husband has ~6 years of experience (2 yrs midsize PA plus various industry roles) so the senior title is low but have heard you have to take a step down in title to work at Fortune 25 companies. He likes the offer but not sure if he should negotiate for more because it’s expected?
