Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

I've had a hybrid role for the past 4 years where I get unlimited sick days (well 14 really until fmla kicked in), 3 weeks of vacation, 3 personal days. I am also given the week after Xmas off. if my toddlers are sick I can work at home with them. Interviewing w fortune 500 that offers 15 pto days that have to use for sick days too.Strictly in office job 9-5 and dress bus.prof. These bad benefits? Outdated culture?I am a seasoned professional. Seems tough.

I’m a litigation associate in that office and it’s fine.
WLB: fine for the most part, I’ve billed between 2100 and 2400 the past 4 years and feel like that’s towards the top for this group/office. I’ve taken multiple weeks of vacation every year and it’s always been respected but I’m also not that senior.
Remote: we still have “virtual associates” who don’t come in at all. Technically our “norm” is 3 days a week but few associates comply with that. Most come in Tu/Wed only. There have been rumors of 4 days a week in office since Cooley made that move, and the new managing partner taking over in August also comes in every day and cares about it, so wouldn’t be surprised if that changes. But for the most part, if you’re good, you can get away with coming in very little.
Not sure which group you’re referring to exactly. I’ve interviewed lateral candidates for “IP Lit” but that’s not really a specific practice group for us. I’ve worked with all of the IP related groups (Patent, Internet Strategy, Trademark and Advertising, Employment and Trade Secrets) a little and they all have some unique personalities and practices, but there is also a ton of crossover on matters.
This is super helpful, thank you! At my current firm, we have a group for IP litigation which handles litigation related to patents trademark copyright trade secret etc, and a separate trademark and licensing group which handles TTAB / cease and desist letters. Separate group for patent prosecution. Is there anywhere online that describes how you all are split up?
