My friend worked at GSDM and had a very bad experience. She said it was a lot of lifers who were lazy/comfortable. Her boss was a nightmare (planning dept) but he wasn't going anywhere so she had to leave. It's a big place though so no idea if this is everyone's experience.
It was 114 today. Seriously, don't move back.
GCD1 nailed it.
There's lifers for sure but the atmosphere is changing. Lots and lots of new people who are more driven and doing tons of work. Talent is trying really really hard to oust the boys club and make the agency more diverse. It's coming along slowly but surely. Tons of opportunity here too.
@OP they're trying for racial diversity too. The boys club is definitely white men, but there are definitely some POC at the agency, though not nearly enough. They do have people whose sole job it is to help increase diversity and they're trying, and since the air force is a client, the government mandates we work with diverse vendors a certain percent of the time, which is cool since at previous agencies the outside producers, directors, and editors were always white dudes.
FH has many Texas offices and I hear they have great diversity initiatives
Dont go
And what's the culture like? Anyone on here work there? Also curious about dallas agencies especially the Richards group. From Houston and would be open to agencies there, too. Any tips? Places to focus on?
Yeah it seems like lifers-- most of which went to my university and NEVER leave
I'm black so by diversity I meant race! But thank you!!
Any other Texas agencies anyone would recommend? Houston, Dallas?
Do you know which accounts are hiring for creative?
Agree with GSDM that there's people trying to fix it, but the agency is overwhelmingly white - especially in creative. People care, but the problem definitely exists.
Very few POC at the agency, but I’d recommend it over Richards Group. TRG is like working at a bank with and Stan Richards is a crazy ass dictator.
