Their leader begins openly treating them poorly.
Their leader does not listen to any concerns they bring forward.
Their leader plays favorites within the team.
Their leader avoids engaging with them.
Their leader is the problem.
This would definitely lead to people looking to relocate.
Any changes in behavior or performance can be an indicator. However, it could be something personal going on as well. I the absence of a lot of patterns data- its hard to really know. Other than talking to the employee.
This is true.
I have seen blatant disrespect from people then they put in their notice. And the "I don't care" attitude.
It can be, but it can also be a symptom of poor management, poor culture, person issues or mental health factors.
I understand this from a risk mitigation and identification standpoint - but flip the script. If your aunts in the hospital, your dog just got hit by a car and your sibling keeps asking you for money - all of this culminates in extreme stress, emotions and focus shifting from work to the chaos in your person life.
Yes.. this is extreme - but you don’t know what’s going on in someone’s life. Maybe they’re quiet, or sometimes people are quiet in meetings and contribute when required.
I look for more blatant yet subtle signs, increase in sick days, the big sigh when you ask how they’re doing, or “I’m fine”/“living the dream”.
But you also have to be VERY careful. You can’t use a blanket approach, you need to build genuine relationships and notice shifts.
Right! Everyone has their own unique situation.
notice withdrawal more than anything. When someone stops contributing or caring about outcomes, it usually means they have already mentally checked out. That shift is hard to reverse once it starts.
