Gotta avoid peak tourist season. Went to Santorini 2nd week of May and had all the beauty, good weather, and not overpacked.
Sept better than May?
Times Square. You go there to stare at big billboards and get heckled by panhandlers.
NYC once as a tourist is reasonable for an American.
Though yes even then avoid Times Square, especially around any holidays.
Just don’t try living in NYC, you’ll be scarred.
Not sure how overrated this one would be but I did not enjoy Istanbul
Why? I thought the culture was unique and people were friendly.
A lot of people get a bad impression of Santorini. You must visit in shoulder season and get a nice hotel where you can chill; don’t come for one day on a cruise.
I went to Santorini in April. One of my favorite places ever.
Naples , Italy
Pro
Omg Santorini was awful. Although enjoyed the seaside hike between towns. We were only there for a day and I couldn't leave fast enough. Any tourist trap I can't stand. They are all a zero. Cancun, Jamaica, st Thomas, etc.
jamaica is a gorgeous time you tripping
Paris and most cities in Italy during the day time due to large group tours. Italy is fine at dawn/dusk since large group tours normally stay outside of the city center due to costs.
damn planning a bus tour as it fits my needs otherwise lol
Bangkok…I’ll never forget the smell.
Mexico.
Tulum
Prague. Went 20 years ago, twice. People raved about it, cheap, steeped in history, beautiful, like a Disneyland for adults. I found it dreary, rude and boring. Europe has so so many great cities. For me, this was not one.
Yeeesssss! Came here to say this. Prague was SO overrated.
Mexico - Tulum , Cabo .Would rather just go to Miami
Tulum used to be legit, but unfortunately things have changed as it’s grown in popularity
