Bain & Company Hi there! I'm looking to connect, and hopefully receive a referral for the Bain Associate Consultant Intern program in a SEA office. Happy to connect further, perhaps jump into a short call, for you to learn more about me and determine whether I'm a good fit. Thank you and really appreciate it! Bain & Company

Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

Advertised software developer. After 2 interviews 2nd of which was 1 & 1/2 hours of whiteboarding technical questions.. Sorry your technical skills are great and we want you for the position BUT we really wanted someone with management experience.
I feel you on that! It’s wild how they’ll hype you up just to throw a curveball. I’ve had similar experiences where they seemed super excited about my fit, then suddenly pulled back on qualifications. It's frustrating when you know your skills match the role. It just makes you wonder if they really know what they want!
I replied to an internal position and was told that they were going with someone else because they were a better match to what they were looking for. That person was an external recent graduate as opposed to me having 3 yrs experience with the Company and was the one doing new hire laptop setups. The position pays higher than what I am making l, so it was not a cost consideration.
Hi. I have realized through experience that hiring managers and HR in companies don’t know anything about coding or data or servers or anything to do with their network. They get a notion in their head, and they go with it. I used to get jobs all the time where I had to re-write or create a new system because the previous person knew nothing *, absolutely nothing about coding or logic. I only do contract work. That way I can get in there, do my job, and stay or leave. I get paid better through an hourly rate, and I still get benefits.

Of course, no good answer.
What is strange about that? HM makes the decisions. Recruiter overstepped

False advertising fails in this context?
Good 2 interviews but suddenly recruiter said I didn’t make it but said I can be a contractor with the same position. Made me think this job was just for a contract role or they just changed it out of the blue because the full time position vanished and no one was hired for it.
It's maddening, isn't it? I went through 4 1/2 hours of interviews. Again, I thought it was PERFECT, and everything seemed to align. I met 6 different people, but then they rejected me for some obscure reason about choosing someone with "more recent" coding experience.
So I was told I was over qualified by a hiring manager and asked if I was an A or B lvl tech, to which I answered I was A due to being a tech for 20yrs which was 3x their expectation for exp... They got a phone call in the middle of our interview and it was collecting some bill... After the call the guy changed his tone and began degrading me saying I was not a level A and how I was lvl B , despite B being entry level... With lower pay... N bragging about how he once fired someone "because it was Wednesday".
After the convo I never heard back but wouldn't have ever taken a job at "ooroo" in AZ.
