I have received a offer from Cerner for Technical solutions Analyst role. It's a support role on SQL and work timing is 5pm to 2 am. I was checking the reviews on Glassdoor and ambition box and i have read alot of bad reviews on management and dirty politics. After reading all this I am concerned if i should go ahead with the offer or not. Please advise how is the work environment, does management support learning and is their dirty politics within team? What is a good salary for a director in NY?
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

I only apply when there is a pay rate posted and when that pay rate is close to my desired pay rate, and then negotiate and I have always been able to negotiate above the posted pay range…
I personally don’t even consider a posting that doesn’t have some sort of pay listed, usually means they know they are under paying their employees or trying to g to keep the new hire pay rate a secret from existing employee. It’s shady and there is not single reason to not post a pay rate or range, unless the employer is attempting to be shady….
I tend to prefer jobs with salary ranges too! But sometimes, even the salary range is too broad. Some have said $60,000 to $95,000. I’d expect mid or high. But you never know. I don’t like those ranges because I might get offered the lower end if the company is a bit greedy.
Are you referring to hourly pay? I do not believe I have seen a job posting with a fixed salary, can you expand on your question?
I’ll try to find it again.

If interested in the role, apply. Many job boards post “estimated ranges” that may be in the ballpark, but can be inaccurate.
OP is stating there is no range, there is just the pay of a straight $90,000. I have never seen that before have you?
It depends on whether the job description has a specific note that the salary is fixed. If not, you can absolutely negotiate later in the hiring process, but if the salary is explicitly described as set in stone, you cannot negotiate without losing the job offer. If the salary is set in stone and is less than your walkaway rate (the minimum pay rate you'll accept), don't apply for the job.
I hope this helps! Good luck!
That’s good advice and makes sense!
I would apply and put my desired salary bc they usually ask on the application. If they call back then we negotiate. If they don’t, then I just move on
True. That definitely works too!
