It's always good to send a thank-you email after an interview. It's just the polite thing to do. The content of it needn't be anything elaborate, just a note to thank someone for their time. It most likely won't be a determining factor, but it's just good form.
Agree. A short and simple thank you note shows professionalism and respect for their time, even if it is not the deciding factor.
I definitely appreciate the gesture, and I think it's better to follow up rather than assume it will be a nuisance. That little bit of professionalism goes a long way. I have a lot of spam in my inbox that is cluttering things up, but thoughtful and professional notes from candidates are not a problem at all.
Well said. Thoughtful follow ups stand out from spam and reflect maturity and genuine interest.
I always send thank you notes and never once has anyone acknowledged this nor do I think it is expected these days which may make it an unnecessary step — especially with younger interviewers. It would feel weird not to send one and it is a professional courtesy /soft skill gesture I appreciate when I am in the hiring role.
I see that too. It may not always be acknowledged, but it still reflects well on you and shows consistency in how you approach opportunities.
