When I was at Accenture I thought ACN Strategy was the top of the top but I didn’t go to a fancy school so imagine how hard it was to network my way in. Then they stopped transfers because of COVID and I was laid off despite all of the good reviews I had calling for me to be promoted. I was almost happy with 100k just to be a senior analyst in Strategy.

Today I just signed my offer at a tier 2 firm and I’m making over 180k. Thank you Accenture for the lay off. EVERYONE KEEP PUSHING!!!!!!!!

Does becoming partner at a firm increase your attractiveness to other potential employers? I’ve been at my firm for 8/9 years and I am looking to jump ship ASAP due to what people are telling me is an underpaid salary. But the managing partner says if I stick it out another 6 months and hit big hours all of those months, he’ll “submit me for partner.” I don’t intend to stick around here long term, it would just be for the title. He would not tell me how much more I’d make as a partner.

Airbnb or get a roommate?

I'm about to move to a destination city in Europe with a shortage of LTR. I want a 2 br so I can host friends/fam when they visit me.& this guest room could also be airbnb'd out when not in use by friends/fam.

But I have a cat, so my airbnb might get less hits. There's the upfront cost of furnishing.& the city has LTR shortage and I feel bad contributing. A roomie would be guaranteed "income" w/o needing to furnish it. But I lose my guest room.

Just got promoted to SM. I worked my ass off for this and am very proud. At the same time, my daily life is exactly the same - my role won’t change and I can’t celebrate because of COVID.
