When is a good time to know you are ready for a promotion?

I think when you are excelling at your current responsibilities and also wanting more of a challenge, you're ready. It's important to have both factors, because just being good in your role doesn't mean you need to advance. I am big on not focusing too much on upward movements if you are happy and financially stable.

This really hit home. Thank you for your feedback!

I know I'm ready when I start feeling burnt out. When I don't have the same passion I used to have, I know it's time to take on additional responsibilities. How are you feeling about your current job right now?

That’s good to know. I am feeling ok about my current role but I want you to move around and maybe go to another department.

I personally feel like I'm ready for promotion when I feel like I have the knowledge and mental space to develop further.

Yes. If you have the mental aptitude then you definitely be ready.

Honestly, I feel like I'm ready for the promotion when I have mastered current responsibilities and have been receiving positive feedback from my seniors. What about you?

This is really good. I also agree with this notion. Also, I think you should be mentally prepared as well.

When you're taking on additional responsibilities and proactively seeking out new challenges and opportunities to expand your skillset. You're not just doing your job but constantly striving for growth and development. Have you been taking on more lately?

Yes, I have been taking on more responsibilities lately since we’ve had some departures. Had to pick up the slack essentially.

I have two offers in hand. KPMG and Deloitte. CTC is almost same whereas variable is more in KPMG. I am inclined towards Deloitte India. But HR in KPMG told me that I won't be able to join KPMG India in future as I accepted their offer. I informed her within 2 weeks and didn't do anything for onboarding. I didn't ask to increase the amount or JB and I strongly believe I informed early so they can look for other candidates. Is this bluff? Any HR here to clarify
