I now drive an uber. What're you trying to say?
It's only funny because he makes more money than you.
Are they hiring for drivers? Sounds better than this right about now
P2 not trying to say anything. I said it. He interviewed for PwC, didn't like it and now drives an uber. What more do you want?
Bullshitting Uber drivers in NY are almost as funny as bullshitting real estate brokers.
Yeah. Oh well, good for him for trying, you know?
Who is laughing? I am pointing out that the guy prefers to drive an uber than to work at PwC.
my last uber driver claimed he made almost $200K last year (nyc), i think he was driving every day, but still--way better than what associates make (no matter what company)
@EY2... Break free my child.. Break free 🙏🏼😏
I had an uber driver driving me from airport to recruiting event, turns out he was going to the event as a student. Proceeded to try tell me how he's a good candidate for the whole ride. I was nice but he went nowhere...
Ubers drivers only get 25% of what they drive, so that basically means that the uber driver made $800K in one year. Yaaaah riiiiight
This thread is funny and OP's comments have me crying 😂😂 OP is my spirit animal
I drove Lift before
@ACN1 you know that's not true right
Acn1- I don't drive Uber but have interviewed many drivers as if they were my clients. They give about 25% to Uber and rest of the expenses are tax deductible. So, it's not that bad. Also, if you r in NYC area, there are extensive hours in a day when they have surge pricing. So, it's not totally impossible to make good money. I am sure he meant $200k in rides and not final profit. Anyways that way better than a Manager's salary in big4. And even we do pay taxes.
B1- why didn't his candidacy not go anywhere? Just curious
Under qualified, simply put.
Interesting, thanks
Had no issue with him chatting (although the last thing I felt like on my one 20 minute break was being sold on a candidate) - just wasn't good enough sadly
$200k in revenue, *maybe.* Of that, $50k to Uber. A lot depends on the type of car.
Presuming he's driving 8 hrs a day at 20 mph, 200 days per yr, that's 32k miles of city heavy driving per yr.
In a Prius, only $1.5k in gas. Budget 2x that for maintenance and insurance. That car is going to depreciate quickly with all the driving. Call it 20k -> 6k in maybe 2 years = $7k/yr. So $140k/yr operating profit.
If he was driving an Escalade to get that $200k, it's a lot less impressive. $3k in gas. 2x in maintenance and insurance. Depreciation more like $74k->30k in two years = $27k/yr. $114k in operating profit.
