When you're interviewing with a new company, one would hope that the process remains confidential. However, it's not uncommon to hear of situations where information about a candidate’s job search leaks to their current employer, either because of networking, mutual connections, or because companies have established relationships.
In an ideal world, interviews and job searches should be confidential until the employee decides to disclose the information.
