For entertainment industry, do you mean the pandering rules about underrepresented ethic groups to be nominated? That's two steps backwards for DEI, as we are now setting up requirements for classifying people to signal virtue - rather than using the qualifications of the applicant as the primary hiring driver. As a member of an underrepresented group, I want to be hired on my merits, and not be reduced to a token hire to check the box. Long term, this does more harm than good for POC.
Tech and finance often steal the spotlight when it comes to DEI efforts. Tech boasts its Silicon Valley diversity initiatives, and finance touts its commitment to breaking down gender barriers on Wall Street.
