From my experience, CFA is a nice to have, not a requirement.

like

Most of the time - all of the above will require or recommend CFA

like

To clarify, I see it the most often as a requirement for early career individuals. It’s either in the contract as an expectation that you’ll pass all three levels or if you’re a lateral hire, you’ll walk in with at least level 1.

I think of the several dozen people I’m close with, like maybe 1 has a CFA here

Thank you for sharing. I’m still early in my career so I’ll hopefully build up my skills to join a firm like this.

Specifics if you can; CAD tools, simulation, CAD speed or proficiency, industry or standards knowledge, GD&T, certifications, Microsoft Excel, presentation skills, technical writing, project management, self organization, great communication, teaching ability, relationship building, etc.

1st yr at a nyc v50 firm doing general transactional work. I know the lateral market for transactional lawyers is hot but not as hot for juniors. I just want a change of scenery because my current firm is bleeding good associates / not giving great training imo / and just seems small. Would lateralling this early feasible? Would it look bad on my resume?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Please help him with referrals.
