Which tax software do you use for yourself and family if you prepare taxes at a public accounting firm but do not want to use the firm’s tax software?
I do not like using turbo tax (user version) for my own tax return due to too many instructions provided. But I do not want to use the firm’s software either because I will have to input my own business info again when I change jobs. Any recommendations?

Tax Manager - what type of stuff can I exit to? I mostly has flow through entity experience and no income tax provision experience at a Top 15 firm. Been here 8 years and am a little nervous to even consider non public accounting because it’s all I know, but I want a less stressful work/life balance. Also I feel I’m overpaid and am afraid I’ll have to take a pay cut.

I’m in my 2nd year in audit. I want to pivot into management consulting within a big 4 or MBB. Has anyone seen someone make this lateral movement? I’m not sure how feasible that is and what steps to take. I’m also down to discuss further with whoever is comfortable in connecting.

Big4 has clear trajectory and interesting work.
