OP I get your point, I do think this vacation change may impact us foreign workers a little more just because if I take an overseas trip to visit home or if I have family come visit me, I’m going to need at least 3 consecutive weeks, and likely not around the typical winter break since we don’t celebrate these western holidays. So moving to an unlimited models could mean greater hesitation to take that much time off all at once, for fear of being perceived as an outlier or abusing the vacation policy etc. esp since the firm is not going to recommend as acceptable ranges of how much time one can take...
Work hard, marry up. Pick a partner from first world so that your life moves in the direction you desire. You can’t change where you were born, but you can decide what you become.

Remember white women who had a privileged life and went to party schools use gender diversity card and get promoted faster than hardworking immigrants (women and men) who struggle every single day dealing with visa issues while still working their butts off to be considered equal to them in this country. I know some people will say it was our choice to come to this country and work in this country but is it really fair?

Everyone has their own misery and nothing wrong with complaining. Comparing is only adding to your misery. We chose this life completely knowing all it's pros and cons. Some could very well argue that you are privileged to complain about being asked to leave respectfully when there are people being forcefully separated from their kids, being forced to undergo sterilization, etc. You get the point.

No EY, The vacation change implemented by EY is essentially an across the board pay cut and your colleagues are right to be pissed off. It is almost like saying everyone's base salary is cut by 50% but people can ask for unlimited bonus and will be paid any bonus their leads approve.
