Hey folks, I’m about a year into my new SE career and looking to continue to invest in professional skills. I’ve obviously been thrown into the fire learning the sales side of things, but what areas (technical skills, certs, books, etc.) you all would recommend I look to invest in? I’ve been looking at some beginner coding boot camps and scrum product owner certs, but interested in what you all have done to further advance your career

I feel like I was straight up lied to during the interview process. “lots of opportunities to hit quota”. I’m sitting here with only one demo two months after joining the company. it looks like our team has only two people doing demos, and demos are only happening once every two weeks. At this rate, I don’t think I’ll be even close to hitting OTE. Are there any other companies hiring right now? I’ll have a discussion about my concerns with my manager soon, but there’s too many red flags here.

Meeting with a recruiter at one of the FAANG companies. I won’t be able to move jobs because of H1b /GC at least for the next year. Any idea if I should start off with that or should I just try to understand the work that they have been doing?

I rented a house that had been vacant for a bit & the prior tenant didn’t do a thorough job cleaning up. Agent indicated the owner would be open to having the house cleaned but I would need to have the house professionally cleaned when I moved out (that was fine w me). I just received the bill from the owner for $250, which is super annoying bc there was no expectation communicated that I would foot the bill for this, more so bc the cleaner did a LOUSY job. waiting on a final written offer, messaged the recruiter yesterday but received an automatic reply stating she won’t be back until tomorrow. Email stated to reach out to another recruiter for immediate assistance so I did. I emailed her , she said these offers do take some days because of the Hr and HM has to sign it. Once that happens my recruiter should send me the offer. Either on the day she comes back, but by the end of the week. I am going stir crazy, I really hate my current job. Help…

I cleared LTI all rounds and in HR discussion we came on mutual agreement for 16lpa .I have 7 years of experience and they gave me Specialist - Data Engineering(P3) role. And we agreed I will join with after 60 as I had to serve 60 days notice period. I was waiting for offer letter and when I received the offer letter I was shocked to see that CTC mentioned was 14LPA and joining date was only 15days from now ,which is way early.

Is it too late in our lives to jump into a mortgage?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. We’re both 36 and currently rent a 2 bedroom in NY and have a combined savings of $35,000 which she wants to use as a down payment on a condo. I kinda just wanna continue saving while renting. I also literally just started contributing to my 401K so I’m also late in the game for that too.

PERM question:

My lawyer said they filed my PWD in October and they conducted recruiting in December-January.. They mentioned they hope to prepare my PERM filing and send to me for review in March/April. Has anyone filed PWD in October? And does this timeline sounds about right ?

Anybody hiring for data analytics positions? I just need a first round interview. I am a decent candidate, my last 5 interviews were EY, McK, EY, McK and GS (last round, 1st round, last round, 2nd round, 1st round). What's the recruitment process for Consultants or associate consultants on analytics side ? I was said there would be 4 steps at minimum.

So I’m engaged in an interview process for a top FinTech company. It started the 1st week of August and just now I’ve gotten word from my recruiter that they didn’t update on any decisions made. I had my 3rd & final interview last Friday. My recruiter doesn’t communicate well nor does she let me communicate with the company direct. May I being led on? After you interview for a job is it acceptable to contact your interviewer on Linked in or is that like stalking? I don’t have another contact and I want to follow up with them but I don’t want to be annoying.

I am done with my HR round. And said I am selected in Siemens, balewadi, but not yet received the offer letter. Its been a month now They are waiting for approvals. Any idea when will I get the offer letter.

Just promoted midyear to PM at Bofa. salary seemed soft at 150k in top 10 market. Anyone else have any input?

Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?

I have an offer from an Asset Manager in London and it is slightly below my expectations. I want to approach them for a joining bonus but was not sure if it is a thing in asset management.

Hey guys, so I have competing offers. One at Bank of America for 124, and one at Allspring for 110.

Does anybody work at Allspring? They did not provide any information regarding benefits, 401k match, or any annual bonus structure. I was told, verbally, that the Bank of America bonus is something like 15 to 20%, but nothing in writing.

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about compensation structure at Allspring, or any opinions on the culture there. I would be in Charlotte.
