Using it now. Do not like. Have never liked it. Processes are confusing. Reps are nice but it takes 3-4 back and forths to get them to pay attention and actually understand your question and, the verbiage and instructions for the end user employee are not clear.

It's a bit meh for me. Generating custom reports can be a bit clunky. You might need to enlist the help of your inner data scientist to navigate the reporting features.

I agree w/ that about the reporting. There are a lot of them and sometimes you can’t find the one you need b/c of its title.

Avoid at all costs. We are newer customers and while their staff is nice, it felt like a bait and switch between what we were sold and the experience. They’ve also told us how busy they are and we have deduced we were rushed through implementation. We weren’t told pretty important things about multiple aspects of how the system works, major limitations to be aware of. Reps on one part of the system don’t know about other parts, and also don’t care to know - even if something from benefits is impacting payroll. They just don’t care and will truly tell us inaccurate information. Also there’s parts of their offerings that are not as frequently implemented and their staff is not knowledgeable on them, causing way too many unwanted surprises for us. I really do not recommend this system at all. They are going through growing pains and should really slow down their implementations so they don’t lose tons of customers and can cross train their staff.

I think I’ve heard some meh things about it from multiple people

I really liked it as a much more cost effective model than ADP. It did everything I needed it to do, seamless integration with job boards as an ATS, etc. I miss it.

It's not terrible but there are definitely parts of it that are a bit clunky/not user friendly. I do prefer it to Taleo for ATS/recruiting though.

Hi! We use Paylocity at my company. It’s not that bad but then again this is the first time I’ve ever done payroll (which is the only thing we use it for) in an HR position. Some times it can be a bit glitchy. For example, we’ve had issues w/ employees vacation time not being correct. Also, customer service isn’t always helpful when you call. Some of them are great but others will send you an article to read and that’s it. I guess it could be worse lol

When non-ad ppl ask you what do you do? In terms of title; do you tell them “copywriter”? Or immediately assume they dont know and might confuse it with copyright infringement, and just end up telling them that you’re a writer or a creative director, and skip the hassle

I work with a junior PM who is not performing. Not my report, we share a mgr, but as a senior PM I lead the product. He can’t finish anything, needs a lot of coaching, I give him 2h/wk but I can’t afford more.
After 2mos I raised it to our mgr who promised to work with him. 2 more mos passed, mgr talked to him only once, no change in perf. I think mgr doesn’t want to deal with the problem. Now they ask if I want to manage JPM. It is going to be a ‘no’ but I want to ask some advice on all this.

Hi all!
Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?
