How to move from Barclays India to Barclays UK?
Hi Fishes, I have received an offer from Barclays for AVP position. But the role discussed during interview was for Tech Delivery Manager whereas the offer letter mentions it as Tech Delivery Lead. Can you guys please suggest if it is the same role or should I request recruiter to get the role updated? Though you might have already done this but start with having a honest conversation 1:1 with your manager. Discuss each point bothering you objectively and document the resolutions/way forward via minutes.
It seems from your post like things were okay previously and issues have started recently. So try and understand what has changed. Do mention that this is affecting your mental health as Barclays does take it seriously.
Observe for a while if things improve, if not have a skip level with your LM's manager and request to get your reporting changed. Post this also if you feel dissatisfied look for IJPs or other opportunities as nothing is more important than your well-being. Hope this helps.
Also, could you please elaborate on few instances that caused stress? It will help in providing better perspective to manage the situation.
Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it. So, this has happened, I am new to Barclays and the manager I have been assigned is not very great at what he is doing. From the work front there is no issues as I am taking care of the deliverables even before time, but he has this habit of micromanagement and buggging like when did you login even for one day of planned leave he would say that don’t take leave etc etc. most importantly I have issues with his tone and the way he thinks I am his slave. Many times I have also given him apt reply professionally but now it’s becoming too much for me, I have started having sleepless nights.
Buddy be very cautious of what action you are going to take.. I know Barclays highlight a lot about RISES but at the same time it has lots of politics, even i have issues with my manager, he irritates a lot for my personal things because I'm good at business side he always pinpoint at my personal things but I cannot take any action at him because he knows a lot many managers on floor and he will come to know that I have done escalation againt him even my whole team knows that he has problems with me but everyone prefer to stay mum and enjoy the show

Talk to skip manager about it and then wait for few weeks for things to change. If nothing changes, raise an anonymous complaint with the Ethics team. Also keep trying for an IJP or move out.
I did the same but faced severe repercussions of raising my voice as my manager's attitude became worse towards me. So I finally moved out.
Be prepared to face all this.
How can I contact the ethics team? Will they help?

Really sorry for this experience, ideally no one should go through it .
Few points before taking it to next level
1) Have everything documented that you have done well and have been appreciated.
2) Have all of your feedback’s captured on the portal from different stake holders .
3) Have a general pattern how your normal day looks like .
4) Now have every small thing captured where your line manager isn’t supportive , please have pointers and example for each .
5) Now agains each point, write down how it affects you mentally. How each of his actions is giving you sleepless night and how this affects each one in the family.
Now with all of the above pointers raise it to skip level or Ethics portal .
Please do have your pointers ready before raising it .
Try to set up 1-1 call with the skip level manager. Also may I know what kind of issues you are facing?
