When is the good time to tell the company that I am 3 months pregnant. My date of joining is 18th of July. I understand by law I need to finish 80days with the company before I avail maternity benefits which I can easily do in next 3 months.
I want to understand if women who go on maternity leave during probation are treated differently or if there will be discrimination once I let them know about my situation. Wipro Accenture Allstate Quantiphi analytics pvt ltd.

Not true at all! There was very simple criteria, staffing projection at no less then 10% metric. Stop starting shit, you're messing with people's livelihoods giving Un-needed anxieties, just not cool
To be clear we had one minimal round of layoffs in March, this was based on projected staffing needs. Our industry has a typical attrition rate of 14% YoY however over the past 2 years we have only seen 8%. This caused a swell on the bench even though we only slightly missed numbers. To realign the partners decided to make a small cut weighted by position, the main metric we looked at was the potential for future staffing, those that did not hit at least 90% of their metric goal was put into a pool for further research. Resource managers with HR reached out to that resources network (CC, past managers, local PPDs, etc) to determine staffing potential. Those who did not pass that round went through a 3rd round of vetting to get us to a specific number of layoffs. Then this past month, Deloitte did what Deloitte always does, we counseled out 4s, nothing my new here, there was not another round of layoffs, had nothing to do with tuition reimbursement. Think about it, how would we EVER be able to recruit again if we pulled shit like that, the $2.2m budget for tuition isn't worth the brain drain.
D1 got the memo from the partners to defend accusations about Deloitte lol...
You pulled out of your ass, to be a stat you need a sampling base larger then your roommates.
D1 sounds like she knows what she's talking about. Is that you Janet Foutty??
N=30+. Including the majority of one office's post mba class. And wtf is a staffing projection 10% metric? No metric I've heard of. If it's important maybe it'd be good to share with "the help." Comments of fishbowl have pretty uniformly said hat people with great metrics are getting canned, so i don't think your paint by numbers metric was the answer if it was real.
OP you are an idiot!
@D1, can you elaborate on "Counseled out"? Shouldn't there have been some sort of career improvement program before someone gets counseled out?
"Hello, it's me"
Stats don't lie.
Bull shit! Stop, there is NO WAY you base is 30+
Let's do a poll here...
The people let go were the lower performers - our performance management is all based on relative performance and perceived trajectory. Why would we let our better performers go that would not be a smart move. Tuition reimbursement had nothing to do with the decisions. A non-factor but most of our SCs these days are former GSAP and Summer Associates. Trust me a lot of thought was put into these decisions .
There must be some PPDs/ brand strategists/ etc. going through these posts insisting that layoffs were performance driven. If Deloitte only wants GSAPers and SAs then it shouldn't recruit new folks ...
D1 can you elaborate on your first comment?
Not buying this nonsense OP
Geez Deloitte again with these layoffs. Can we have a break from this?
D1 knows. OP, it's pretty simple and for anyone that still don't get it, you are either a junior resources and/or still naive in your career. Debating won't help your career, learn the game.
Most of the firms are the same way. Same shit, different pile.
I guess we'll never fully figure it out. Bottomline - Deloitte (or any company) is a money-maker first and people- oriented second. Rather than focus on why, let's try and help our friends and ourselves (who knows when the next round will happen) identify or access opportunities. #twocents
