Why do people put "MBA" after their name? It is not a designation or certification. What's the difference between putting "MBA" after your name and putting "BA" or "BS"? Nobody lists that they've completed undergrad after their name, but all of a sudden, MBA deserves to be put after your name?

I need career advice. I have been an office admin for 7 years and want to pivot into project management. I have experience leading small projects. Does your undergrad school matter to MBA admissions? Does it make a difference if you have a great GPA from a state school or an average GPA from a highly selective school?
