Hi! I have an exploratory interview coming up with a hiring manager at a startup. I reached out to her on LinkedIn, asked if she would be open to connecting and she is. I’m very excited about this opportunity and want to make a good first impression. Meeting is via zoom so I’m treating it like an actual interview. What are some good questions to ask? Appreciate the help :)
Is it okay if I use my work teams app for an interview? I’m running into issues with my personal computer on Microsoft Teams and I don’t have time to fix before my interview.
Salesforce (CRM) had a solid earnings report and yet sold off. I think the slack acquisition, while maybe a little expensive, is going to be a huge win. What am I not seeing here? Why isn’t this ticker on the rise?
Does anyone have any insight as to when things are going to go “back to normal” in California in terms of needing to appear in person for smaller status conferences, hearings, depositions, etc. instead of doing it via zoom? I am permanently remote but a lot of my cases are in courts that are a good 1.5-2 hour drive from me and I’m starting to feel anxious about when I’ll have to start going in person for these types of things because of the distance.
Anyone want to study for the CPA over zoom? I hate studying alone and feel it would be better with a group everyday. Let me know if interested!!
Most creative way to keep your Skype status from going “away” when you have downtime. Go!
Accepted two jobs and they both have training around the exact same time, on zoom. Even if I push back one job another week, the training times still conflict. I accepted two jobs based upon the income that I need and nothing else being out there. Any suggestions?
Tried Facebook Rooms yesterday for a call. It was good until the sound cut out. Hangouts has terrible video quality. Zoom has a 40 minute limit for the fee version. Skype is so 2019. What’s your video conference platform of choice including Pros and cons?
Can we automatically fire people who say "hi" on Slack and never respond? Its not chat. Slack doesn't interupt your screen if you are presenting. Get with the times, it's 2020. Just tell me what you want!
I am getting a crazy amount of spam calls "verify your business with Google" on my work Skype number!! I don't know why this is happening. Does anyone know how to block it or another solution?
Do you feel like COVID made your job seem cooler or more important? Thinking of people who work for Zoom, Slack, or just anything that people pay a bit more fing attention to and appreciation for.
Colleagues, looking to connect w/ female Partners/MDs who work in the advisory practice of a Big 4 acct. firm (Deloitte/EY/KPMG/PwC). I'm pursuing a doctoral degree and interested in learning about women's career paths toward partnership. If you, or someone you know, is passionate about women's advancement in the Big 4 and are open to sharing personal reflections on career trajectory, I'd be grateful to have your input shape the study. Entails a 1 hr zoom interview; all info will be anonymized.
How many of you use Skype and not Teams?
Where should I take a Skype interview midday?
Are your kids actually learning stuff on Zoom? How are schools doing exams? I can barely pay attention to a Netflix movie
Can anyone share their interview experience at AWS? Is it similar to Amazon (focusing on leadership principles)?
Project is ending and I think i am going to miss my manager. Good managers really do make a difference. 😊
I am newly pregnant, vaccinated and boosted, and trying to figure out if I need to stop going into the office and increase the medium level of COVID precautions I had been taking. I had previously been going in 2-3 days a week and working remote the rest of the time. Also my husband travels a fair amount for work and idk if he should be trying to limit travel/office time as well. Will ask my Dr too but curious what level of advanced precautions others in this situation have taken. Thanks!
Third interview at an agency I really want. It lasted 30 minutes, and ended with a handshake and a “we’ll be in touch.” Why do I feel like something went wrong?
Anyone willing to connect and provide coaching on how to get into MBB or management consulting in general? I recently have an interview with one of the MBB for EM position, I don't think I would get it, but interested in learning more as I've always wanted to do management consulting. I plan to reapply in a year or so.
We have our nanny a 10% pay raise in September to mark her two year anniversary with us (amounted to something like $2.50 more per hour). We were expecting (I was seven months pregnant at the time) and I told her it was (1) annual raise but (2) would also cover the fact that she’d be taking care of another baby. This morning she asks us whether we can talk about her raise now that she’ll be watching an extra kid. I awkwardly was like “well that’s what the prior raise covers” and she (contd)
Deloitte India consulting or KPMG Global services? which has better WLB, hikes etc Both offering same ctc. Skill: ServiceNow
Hi Fishes, I'm working at an Israel-based publically listed company in insurance software solutions (i.e. a product-oriented company). We have multiple technical and non-technical positions open with us ranging from DevOps Manager to Lead Analyst and product manager, all for Bangalore Location(however, we are on WFH since March 2020). If anyone needs a referral in an innovative, evolving, and dynamic IT company, with a really good work-life balance, then do ping me.
A friend has offers for Bain and BCG Dubai at the consultant level (joining just after his MBA) and he is confused on which one to take. Any thoughts to help him make a decision? Things he cares about are total compensation, career progression, mobility/ transfers to other offices and casework focus on tech (if any).
Is an MHA treated the same as an MBA in the healthcare consulting world? I keep seeing info. on MBA grads making ~150k post grad and can't help but feel like I'm grossly underpaid if that is true. Have an MHA, multiple certs, 3 YOE, making less than 100k right now.
Hi all - does anyone know anything about switching/adding a content area? I am currently a HS english teacher w/masters, but interested in also adding a PE cert. Is there a way to do this that is more streamlined as a teacher already? Having a really challenging time finding a concrete answer of state edu websites. I have a personal training certification as well for background !
Are visitors (Indian citizens) on B1/B2 visa allowed on united airlines flights which have started from india to us? Any experiences?
Playing the market for higher TC at other Salesforce consulting firms like Deloitte, Accenture, PWC, Silverline. I’m very close to my C1 promotion here at cap and think it will be announced in the next few weeks. Should I stay or should I go if I get an offer with $200k+ TC? Currently at $120k
First year in a v10 corporate group. Wondering if billable hour “hoarding” is a thing? As in, my group is busy, there’s seemingly lots of work to go around, and I’ve only gotten positive feedback so far, but this month I’ve gotten relatively few assignments. Wondering if that could be related to seniors/mids wanting to hit billable targets for themselves?
What are benefits packages like outside the Big 4, particularly at MANGA (I guess that’s the new acronym with Meta), Salesforce, etc? I always assumed Deloitte’s benefits were on the more generous side but curious how we go up against some of these tech companies who also generally pay more. I’m paying $3796/yr for a family HDHP where the total OOP max is $7600 ($3800 for individual). D throws in $1k to HSA if you max personal.
Got an offer for 25% more today. I realized I don't care about this job anyways and that i would rather do the same job for more money and that my exit strategy is to be a landlord and not work :)
Does anyone know any scoop on the new Slalom Charlotte office? Industry mix / current size / culture / any insights?
Need some advice.I’m on the backside of my career having spent 35 years in healthcare focused on the delivery of care and the insurance of it in business Felipe my for disruptive companies. I am looking to create a side huddle that could grow into a part-time gig in 5 years earning 60k where. I am not a licensed medical professional but I know the healthcare ecosystem, motives, thinking, and challenges that exist. I’m wondering how to parlay this knowledge into a side gig.
