Why hasn’t the classroom model changed? There should be two teachers in the classroom.
I’m shocked at the expectations put on one person. With 20+ kids in the classroom, why aren’t two qualified adults in the room administering lessons, managing behaviors etc?
One teacher was sufficient 50+ years ago where most students had manageable behaviors. However, that’s not the case now. We wonder why the education system is failing.Does anyone know of any schools that use two educators per classroom?

My 4th grade class didn’t show up today because the teachers are upset that student behaviors that are an issue in music are carrying over to their classroom. I understand their frustration, but nothing was communicated with me. I even thought things were going better this week.

I feel like in our school they are asking more and more of aides and other staff with no certification (beyond HS diploma). Don't get me wrong I don't mind helping out but we are the lowest paid position in the district, why are we asked to fill in for everyone else with no compensation? Ive subbed in classroom and special areas... um even uncertified subs make more than me... admin insists this is happening everywhere and we need to be flexible... but is it really?!?!
