Will be spending around $14K (medical, life stuff) in June/July. What 2-3 cards could I sign up for to maximize points earned?

Only card in my portfolio is Amex Gold.
I'm thinking Venture X (premier travel card, low ann. fee), United Explorer (fly them often, waived fee first year) and M Bonvoy Boundless (stay at M often, can earn silver status, can transfer points). End goal is a trip to Asia sometime in next 1-2yrs, paid by points.
Any advice to maximize earnings with $14K spent?

The bill medical / life stuff part of your anticipated $14K spend likely won’t fall into any of the bonus categories of the chase and Amex cards so you will get 1x. So get the venture X so you can get 2x points.

I have Venture X & Boundless. Both are must haves imo.

Venture X = pays you $5 per year. Lounge access meh, but still overall great card.

Boundless = great sign up bonus + 1 free night per year covers the AF.

Happy to refer for either, shoot me a DM!

Venture X is the best card in my opinion. There’s essentially no fee and there are a ton of benefits. DM for referral if interested or have any questions.

They’re creating more lounges for capital one over time, so far only a few exist. More upcoming. Right now it’s mainly priority pass.

You might want to consider Chase Sapphire Reserve or Preferred. Both have better points value than most, and you can transfer points to United, Marriott, Hyatt, and several others.

If 5/24, even then the business Ink card is giving a better bonus for now. Can keep it at 0% and then if you can space out the payments 30 days apply for the preferred or reserve

Venture X is fantastic. I have reserve, Amex platinum, Amex gold. Gonna downgrade my reserve soon. Let me know if you need a referral for Venture X, it’s harder to get approved if you have a lotta cards regardless of your credit score

Yes exactly. OP let me know if you’re interested- happy to refer :)

Venture X hands down. CSP and Amex Plat too. I have Bonvoy Brilliant, not sure if I’m gonna keep it long term but it’s good if you can find a good redemption for the points making this card basically free.

I feel like the inability to access funds when my family needs it has been the reason I haven’t invested outside of 401k and have this cash reserve
