Nope, lawsuit waiting to happen if they say anything negative
I would hope so.
No, companies will generally only confirm you worked there and dates. I bet Deloitte uses a third party company to verify employment for them and they certainly would not have type of termination on file.
Yes D2, but that's a reference. I would hope one would use references that would say nice things
If I remember correctly, companies are not legally allowed to disclose the reason behind termination of employment. They can only provide information on your salary and your hire/termination dates.
Most reference and background checks will only release objective employment details ie. dates, titles, salary by specific release only. "Eligible for rehire" is the fired or other for what you originally asked about. Typically no if fired for cause, yes for layoffs and most other actions. You can ask HR directly if you are eligible for rehire if you apply to other roles.
No, although they can ask questions like "would you hire this person again?"
Generally speaking companies won't say but yes they will show a distinction in their system. If you are laid off the organization usually gives you a letter about benefits and such. You can take that with you if you think a recruiter will ask, but mostly they just ask why you left. You say "got laid off" and move on to other topics
Soooo, what happened? Sounds like a story in there somewhere.
