Big 4 FDD Partner added me on linkedin and asked if I would like to meet for coffee to learn about their firm. I accepted since I think it's a good networking opportunity but what are some good questions to ask? I'm looking to learn as much about their firm and possibly consider them if they exceed my expectations. Currently S2 at a middle market firm.
Would you move from D to other Big 4 with only 20k raise (115 -> 135k)? Assuming you need to restart GC process from scratch a year after joining
For data science roles, senior (L6) at AWS or post MBA level (specialist track, so same pay as generalists) at MBB? Comp is 20% higher at AWS just to start. But maybe looks like MBB has better upside - solid path to promotion to manager level with solid comp increase. But worse WLB and it's unclear to me whether MBB data scientist on the resume is up to par with big tech data scientist on the resume. Coming from big 4 so I am considering brand so I can do better with future resume screens.
If I was going to make a transition to another firm (possibly Tier 2 or Big 4), when would be an appropriate time to do so? I have about 9 months of experience with IBM thus far. Wait 2 years? Less?
What should technology consulting interns receiving full time offers expect to be offered salary wise in a full time offer from different big 4 companies?
Do all big 4 rob money from employees using the “expense policy” excuse or just EY? It’s like that group is given the ultimate power to torture and steal our money, give us no option so speak up and force us to “move on” while our money kept with them. All with full authority to be rude and unprofessional! EY Deloitte PwC Accenture Boston Consulting Group
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
Can I quit after a year as a staff 1 if I don’t want to be in the accounting field? Any ideas for jobs that would be a good transition after 1 year of Big 4 experience and wanting to transition to a different job field?
At a B4 stressed but managing it. Partner passed me over for a sr manager but treats me like one (constantly managing multiple projects, driving his practice initiatives and driving 1-2 /$300-500k of proposals every month. Boutique is offering me the TC that I won’t make here for 3-4 years - same level, more focused scope. Also talking to a tech firm that will be a slight bump (10-15%) but likely 25% less work/stress. Worried a little bit about career progression. Thoughts?
IMPORTANT: If the Big 4 becomes the Big 5, the new addition will need a 5 letter acronym: D, EY, PWC, KPMG, _ _ _ _ _

Should I open a 529 or a taxable brokerage account? Might go get an MBA down the line, but also would hopefully be with a company that would pay for it.
When it’s your second week on the project and the client is already asking if you’d accept a job offer from them 💁🏻♀️🙌
Question for you all: Left D to Company A for a 50% raise in TC and slated to start in <1 week. However, just got an offer at Company B for a 100% raise in TC compared to D, or 30% raise in TC compared to company A. Both firms do similar work but B provides a more solid comp package. Job duties would be relatively similar. Is the % jump worth burning the bridge? Would have chosen Company B if the offer came sooner but the % difference in A to B is at my [personal] 30% threshold. TIA!
Huron fish: what salary range can I expect for the healthcare consulting associate role? I have 2 years exp from Big 4. Glassdoor’s range is pretty wide so trying to narrow it down. Thanks!
