Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave.
I'd like to stick to core accounting.

I resigned and accepted a job with EY GDS with a huge pay bump that DUSI can't match but I also gave up my potential promotion for 2023.

I've been feeling bad about putting my papers down and letting go off my promotion but I am really tired. I took up this job as an escape.

I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. If the end goal would be that the friend might one day be a product manager and me an engineering manager taking instructions from the same friend, isn't consultant profile an easier path to growth.
