Have worked at both. Accenture is a huge step up in my opinion

like

Left IBM GBS in 2014 for Accenture and never looked back. Better culture, better pay, better prestige, and less fear of being laid off. The city requirement is a firm policy, but there are those who circumvent it and no one knows the wiser.

like

Accenture really cares that much what city you're based out of? Why? Doesn't you're current city have a major airport?

like

Step up in Firm. Step down In quality of life for the move. None of this matters: what do you want longer term?

like

M2, talking about the consulting branch here for IBM. Hard to have good quality of life when you're in constant fear of getting laid off and even the best and brightest are getting fired around you - things at IBM GBS are pretty dire

like

IBM 1 you are kidding right? I have had many many friends who received high high ratings, raise, bonus and promotion within a few months of being involved in RA.

like

KPMG yes my city has an airport but the role is based out of another city. @ McKinsey I’ve struggled at IBM there have been layoffs at most parts of the business and I wonder what it’s like at another firm that isn’t going through such a large reorganization

MC1, huge step up in quality of life as well. Others I know who have made the move would agree

Step up in firm

Let's keep generalizing quality of life for companies with 400k+ employees

I walk talking quality of life shift from lower COL to higher COL city on comparable pay. Not commenting on life at Firm A or B.

If you’re a high performer you aren’t worried about losing your job. To me leaving for ACN is basically doing the same type of work and the increase in pay is offset by your expected increase in costs.

IBM1 I don’t think that’s true I’ve seen high performers get cut. To me it seems what manager you are aligned with and if they have a good relationship with New York.

High performers absolutely are getting cut at IBM, whether because of office politics or because they were unlucky enough to work in an area that IBM has not done well in lately (which is most areas in consulting).
There's plenty of overlap between IBM and Accenture but there's also plenty of work at Accenture that there's no way IBM would ever win.
IBM also tends to win a lot more low-value work compared to Accenture (even if the type of work is the same). The last project we won against Accenture (before I left at IBM), ACN's proposal was double what we pitched - that's how much we underbid them by. And then the client ended up paying for it because of what a clusterfuck the project ended up, and we ended up paying for it because the client's focus was all about saving every single penny they could rather than creating any real value

I would take the move.
I am with ibm2, everyone, other than the Executive level who seem to be able to move around freely without concern, seems to be a potential RA every week.

I asked for a raise in April 2022 after three years with my company. Positive feedback since day one. Learned I was making less than peers at other asset managers in NYC with less experience (14 years). Latest conversation was with HR about how they calculate salaries. I’ve been asked to provide examples how my role has changed since I started to justify the increase. Is this normal? Or is this just their way of denying my request?

I feel I am really underpaid and EY is not valuing me as an employee. Based on ur experience can you let me know the actual market rate for my profile?

They were aware about my current CTC right from the first call.

I also shared the counter offer that I'm holding. (Offered CTC > Current CTC)

1YOE medical device NPI Lead looking for salary perspective

Mechanical engineering grad, joined a medical device startup that I had done co-ops at. 8mo into full-time, pivoted from engineering into more of an operations role doing new product introduction (NPI), now with 3 direct reports.

The combination of startup+medical device+NPI seems very unique and I'm struggling to find salary comparables. Currently making 75k but it feels very low given my new responsibility and impact. Any advice?

Hi,
I have got an offer from Accenture and the fixed amount is 16lac and the only deduction they said will happen is PF from this 16 lac and it seems I need to bifurcate the split ups for the basic HRA and other allowance during the onboarding time.
Could anyone have any suggestions if this is a normal process for Accenture where they ask us to fill up the split ups.
Also, help me calculate the in hand approx for this.
