Working in America stinks!
I have a job that currently only works me one day a week, part time (4 hours max) and my finances are not where I ever wanted them to be. I been looking for new work but with every business laying off in favor of freaking AI, it feels like American society is built for failure!
My dad thinks being poor is a personal choice (yeah, one of THOSE kinds of folks) and keeps giving me advice on saving. How do I save $40 a week?!

I received a verbal offer for a VP position at CCB line of business at JPMC in NYC two weeks ago. The recruiter asked for salary expectations but there was no number set. It’s been two weeks since and complete radio silence. I sent an email to a hiring manager a week ago but received no reply. It’s August so people could be on vacation but this is really strange. Has anyone had similar experience?

I’m concerned that my latest job have been less than a year each on my resume but I’m at my wits end and need to start looking. Do you think I will be overlooked because of the length of time at each company?

I'm currently having Java dev profile, 8.5 YOE with a CTC of 21.5 lpa fixed.

How much CTC can be expected from Accenture ? Pls suggest.

When I spoke with HR she said that their was some confusion and with name and they have send wrong offer letter but except my CTC and joining date everything was same my email id, my home address everything. And now I have been asked to wait, HR says they will raise again. And its been 3 days now I can not accept the previous offer also and I cant even resign from my current company. What should I do?

Java Microservices Architect with 40 LPA Fixed (12 YOE) at Nagarro. Joined 8 months back. Got an offer from Publicis Sapient of 55LPA (50 Fixed, 5 Variable). I have asked for 60, but that’s out of their budget. I’m thinking of accepting the offer only if 55 is fixed without any variable. What do tou think guys? Is it worth a switch? And is the variable paid fully usually? Thanks in advance for your insights.

Currently I make a base of $63k/yr and $1k/mo in bonuses pre-tax. I manage a performance for a team of licensed insurance agents (service-based role in a direct business environment), maintain our business relationships, and support adhoc training needs. Is there anyone else in this type of role who is able to share how this compares to similar positions and your general location?

I have a promising interview at a relatively large law firm in my area (+100 attorneys) next week. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

I suffer from depression. Currently on 150mg Venafaxcine. It seems my depression is worse in the day and I come alive at night. Has anyone experienced this with or without Venafaxcine?
I work remote and I'm currently on the bench. I'm worried because my utilization is low...Im trying to learn new skills and sleepy during the day it makes it hard. I don't get sleepy until 3am because I'm wired/hyped up. I don't know what to do. Without the meds, I won't be able to get out of bed...

Took my first ever sick day today on account of my very poor and worsening mental health. Just could not bring myself to put in another 14 hour day with back to back meetings and constant activity. Felt very guilty but I honestly wish I could be more honest and actually share with my manager about why I took a day off.

For those also going through this, any tips on how you manage yourself day to day? What self talk tends to help?

The voice of an outlook email notification gives me anxiety. Does anyone else feel this way or know how i can calm myself? This is a new feeling
