Calm changed my life. The guided meditation, the sleep music and stories, it's all amazing
I think it really depends on how far you are on your journey with mindfulness meditation. Some of the techniques that Calm and Headspace provide are pretty straightforward and you can learn them from simply using the trial version of the apps.
That being said, I did find Headspace useful because of the constant reminders and style of the app to reinforce the learning/techniques. It's definitely not for everyone so I think you should try it out first before purchasing a full subscription.
I found Waking Up by Sam Harris really nice. I tried all 3 apps before, this one stood out to me and is the only one that got me to stick with meditation. Nice voice. To be fair - I tried Headspace & Calm 2 years before Waking Up, so maybe I changed as a person which was the difference.
But Waking Up is great. Here’s a link for a free month. I don’t get anything out of it. Just thought I’d share.
Join me on Waking Up. I'd like to give you a free month to experience the app for yourself. https://dynamic.wakingup.com/redeemMonth/4dd1e1
