My base loc is Bengaluru, but currently I am not mandatorily required to work from office, and have been working from home since I joined Deloitte in July. Should I talk to my manager and go back to my hometown Kolkata and work from there? Staying in PG all day and working from here is not quite feasible for me. Suggest pls. Deloitte India

I'd go for it if the work really interests you, it will make living in those areas a lot easier if you're excited about the work you're doing and really enjoy it. Personally I couldn't work in a desert since I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to heat, but if you handle that stuff better you should be good!
Don't let the climate throw you off, you may be working in the desert but honestly there's always some sort of reprieve from the heat and dry, legally there has to be. Plus it's easy to adapt after you're there for a while. If the work interests you and you think it's fun then go for it, your dream job shouldn't be kept out of reach just because it's sunny lol.
Just use your location as an excuse to justify a nice pool and you'll be set! The desert is beautiful and with good AC and a pool, you'll figure out how to stay cool there! Not to mention winters are amazing and monsoon season is very cool to witness! I love the desert!
