Go with Oliver Wyman. It’s a solid Tier 2 shop. Roland Berger is quite unknown outside of Germany.
Go to Roland Berger, if you only plan to stay 2-3 years for an MBA
Depends on what you want to do. I was in the OW PE DD practice in the US and it is pretty good, not quite LEK or EY-P but good. No idea about RB and DD work.
I know RB is fairly respected in Europe they are not even on the radar in USA.
You probably want to take this in steps. Move to a firm where you can do post merger integration M&A work (more similar to what you do now) then transition to DD M&A.
Question is why you want the meat grinder if DD work. Lots of hours and stress.
Thanks for the structured feedback. I’ve been moving around a lot before in different spaces (public sector, entrepreneurship, cloud sales) and want to continue exploring and learning. The pace of my development has slowed down significantly on my current projects where my firm steps in to implement OW’s strategies. My reasoning for a switch is more challenging work and working in consultant teams instead of being alone on projects. I also really want to work internationally. the local RB office has a strong focus on DD work, which is one of the main attractions. Strong automotive presence in the area too which I’ve heard is their specialty.
+1 Would pick OW
