Bain & Company Fishes, I wonder if you have suggestion on office selection, I am finishing my dual degree(advanced degree and applying for post MBA level job) next year and now applying for consulting roles in the states. I have never been to the states and will only arrive on campus in Fall. I am keen on Seattle and SF offices but I have no affiliation or experience there. Any suggestions? Can you elaborate what you mean by
Absolutely! What areas are you or your team struggling in?
Advising and coaching is a key component- especially for leaders.

It depends on the leader and the type of coaching offered. I've thought about hiring a coach specifically with CM experience because they'd have faced the same challenges. At the same time, I don't think coaching on CM is hugely valuable after you reach a certain level. I've done a few advanced certifications at this point and I felt I gave more than I got. Also, at a certain point it doesn't matter what your specialty, you're considered an expert. The coaching needed at that point is about connecting with and becoming a senior leader. Often times the CM, L&D, OD, and HR leaders are not able or interested in making that leap. However, for someone earlier in their career or a leader struggling to lead a change for the first time, straight CM coaching may very well be helpful.
Do you know anyone doing business for themselves in CM? Curious to know how profitable
I know an accomplished change management leader looking to start a coaching business for change management professionals or those aspiring to be. Doing some market research for him!
I still don’t see it as valuable as a CM CoE lead or a transformational lead kind of role. People don’t need coaching on change, the journey is part of the change management and administrating that along with strategy to implementation (to granular level while communicating with all) will be the responsibility of the change lead.
Again, think of the current scenario we are in - with AI and in the 4th Industrial Revolution- do we really see the need of CM Coach? The differentiation of it to a transformational lead should be clearly defined.
No LOL
Usually, I hear life coaches or coaches for executive management. There might be some on organizational change management if dept culture is terrible
