Would you move to an internal role at your firm instead of going to industry if you leave consulting? State reasons

Yes. So I can work from home and still get consulting benefits.

I thought about, had some informational interviews, and decided against it. I've built too much of a career in my specialty, and as much as I crave normalcy and want to stay with my firm, I like what I do.

like

It's my first choice. 1. Worst case they freeze your salary. Not many other ~180k+/ year wfh options out there. 2. At D you get a pension so every year you hang on internal adds like another $50/month to your eventual payout. 3. It's a good place to go for a balance of $$ and time after having kids.

I would so that I don't have to travel so much. PwC has great benefits so I wouldn't mind being able to keep those. Plus I know expectations

Depending on the role, all of your clients would be consultants or partners. How appealing is that?

This is perspective from someone who went from internal to client serving instead of vice versa. It really depends on the stage of your life. For me I am a young professional who's early in my career so I think external is better for me. If you have a family and are looking for a relatively stable job that doesn't involve craziness from client demands and ridiculous deadlines, yes internal would be great. However, being in internal (esp in professional services firms) will make you feel like second tier citizen. There is no clear career path and salary increase is pathetic. You don't have much say simply because you don't generate revenue. Additionally, there is not that much firm investment in internal employees. It's a trade off so it really depends on your personal situation and preference.

I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.

Recruiter for big tech company reached out on LinkedIn about a role. I asked about ballpark compensation numbers and they said they’re only comfortable sharing on a live call. Replied that I often receive LinkedIn offers for roles of paycuts around 30-50% so I want to make sure we’re in the same rough range. Recruiter again said she would only share via live call. Is this a red flag?

Hi All,

What is the pay range and designation paypal offered for 8 yoe in production support role?

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

To those at V25 firms, how do you view your London office in terms of the quality of work we get and overall importance to the firm? Like is there a perception of us being a step down or ancillary to the big leagues of NYC or not? There’s generally a perception here that L&W and K&E are the only US firms where London can even begin to compete with stateside in terms of generating l work organically but would be interesting to know what you all think? Be brutally honest.

Had a salary discussion with headhunter, who really lowballed me and told that the employer is not going to pay more than X.
The final interview is scheduled for tomorrow should I be expecting any salary negotiation during the final interview or after or is the number that I informally agreed to with a headhunter is set in stone?
How bad is it if I refuse to accept the offer? Will I be banned from working with that headhunting firm?
