I’ve been in atl my entire life and have an opportunity to move to Seattle. I think the pay is too low and my quality of life would be much different in Seattle as I wouldn’t be able to afford the things I have here
I moved from atl to Seattle and I miss atlanta but only because of the people/friends I made. Seattle is awesome too but in its own way. DM if me you wanna hear more about it. Atlanta’s more warm culturally and weather-wise. Seattle is more chilly. I think the groups are more insular here vs Atlanta, strangers acknowledge and talk to you
Seattle any day always
Atlanta, anyday. Unless a waterbody is a necessity for you, Atlanta is more dynamic and fun than seattle
Nerd wallet says 130 to 160 doesn’t compensate for higher cost of living
Plus I think Atlanta is just a better city
Uhm do you like hot weather? ATL for hot weather..
Seattle rent is substantially higher but WA has no state income tax. Run the numbers and look at places you would want to live for the rent portion and take your misc spending budget (groceries, restaurants, etc) and multiply by 1.5 and see. Other prices are higher as well (such as gas). Winter is much rougher in Seattle and you won't often see temperatures over 75.
Rising Star
That won't even be enough to break even. If you like living in Atlanta you should stay.
160k is a bit low for Seattle compared with 130k in Atlanta
