Literally can’t pass FAR exam. I think I am just not cut out to use becker. Does anyone have any advice? At this point I don’t even know if I want to pursue this anymore. I’ve invested so much of my time and losing motivation with constant busy season. Is there any material out there that is more straightforward that you recommend? Someone give me hope…

Hammer MCQs. Don’t give up u got it.

likesmart

I print down the questions and answers on paper so I can analyze and do the calculation and understand them throughout. Find someone else who is also studying for FAR and you can discuss together. Don’t give up. You will get there.

like

No.

I had the same experience, it took me 3 times to pass FAR I would say hammer MCQ’s that’s the best way to go about it and just keep at it, maybe try changing some studying habits. It will be worth it in the end I promise you!

like

Also took me 3 times to pass, got 73 a couple of times. do mcqs until you figure out which ones you hate doing, then do dozens of questions on those topics. It's rough, but you will get it.

like

Used ninja question banks btw.

like

Ninja is solid 67 a month, is the reason I’m a cpa now

like

I second this

like

You need to be doing 100-150 mc questions every single day.

Stay with it - it’ll be worth it!

Screw Becker man, I failed REG and FAR with it. Then I switched to Roger and I passed them all on the first go. The videos for Roger are way more interesting, the guy is kinda funny (he literally mentions cocaine at one point in one of the training videos lol), and he comes up with great ways for you to remember stuff.

Trust me, Roger CPA all the way man.

like

Need to look into this

Try a different study material. I know lots of people that Becker just didn't work for.

like

I used Roger And Ninja TB passed my third time

like

How many times have you failed so far? I somehow passed FAR on the first attempt with not much studying but AUD is the one that kicked my butt, 3 tries to pass

You give me hope

Hey guys, I just found this group and I’m hoping for some guidance/advice! I’m hoping to get into one of the Big 4s or MBB and finally got a few referrals once joining FB. I am 29, have an MA in IOP, and 10 YEO. I have never worked for a non-Jewish company (despite trying pretty damn hard to get out) and I’m freaking out. I have no concept of normal professionalism, strategy for navigating the workplace and the real world in corporate USA,(cont. in comment)

Bit of a niche topic: I’ve been in TS/SCI processing for a Science/Tech/Weapons analyst position with the CIA for 3 yrs since I finished grad school in chemistry, but CIA positions are sort of set it and forget it since they can take so long. I’ve since been focused on a Patent Attorney track and am with a firm that will support me taking the patent bar/law school. If I get through processing and go to the CIA for some time, do you think would I be accepted back into patent law later on?

I’m working for an agency where Art Directors are essentially managers of designers. Art Directors are promoted from Senior Designer, we have no Junior Art Directors.

This hasn’t been my experience, I’m used to Art Directors and Designers having separate career paths. However, I’m trying to keep an open mind. Is this org structure familiar to to anyone else? If so, has it been effective? Thanks in advance!

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

Hi all - just joining and looking for some guidance! I am currently in an IT internship position (making pretty solid money considering) and following this summer I will stay on part time during my senior year (discussing a full-time job offer after already). How do I advocate myself for that to my manager without sounding unappreciative of the position I’m in?
