McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

Idiocy. Are you giving me the option to recline or not? And I'm your patron not your employee, you don't ask me to do things, I ask you.
💯
Uh no, I’m not asking. People need to get over it. If you really need the extra leg space, then fly business class. Welcome to economy.
Asking /= warning. Have some decency and at least warn them.
If y'all want to argue it's human decency to all for permission to recline, make it required to ask for permission before you yank on the seat on front of you to get up. Y'all don't yank on things to get out of a regular chair. I'm about to get whiplash from some people's really aggressive yanks.
AMEN. Decline or don’t, I don’t care. But do not touch my seat.
This isn’t very ohana OP
Haha it’s an inside joke. Recently there was messaging that we aren’t pushing the Hawaiian culture as much. Some folks found it a little disrespectful
This is basic good behavior. It is ridiculous that anyone actually has to ask passengers to behave like decent human beings.
I almost never recline... but if you’re the jackass using the back of my seat to pull yourself up, putting your toes on top of my armrest, or continually banging on the tray table with your typing and making my seat shake each time - yes, I’m going to recline suddenly to remind you that there is, in fact, someone else on the plane. Shocking how many people get pissed about recliners and still act entitled on a flight.
I saw the interview and he was asked about the video. Think he just said what he would do in that situation. My take is that he’s not asking / telling Delta passengers to do this. Was trying to answer a controversial question as the CEO of an airline eloquently.
I think by ‘ask’ don’t we all mean ‘give a few seconds notice’?
If I had just been given food or a hot cup of coffee and the person in front said ‘can I recline’ I’m sure a response of ‘just let me pick up my coffee first so it won’t spill’ would be fine.
They get to recline and I don’t have some ape treating their seat like a trampoline.
Flight <1.5 hrs = no recline, everything else is fair game.
Disagree SM1...it’s a passenger’s right to recline even on a 5 minute flight. This MON AM example you brought up is especially required for recline as man’s are tryna sleep
I think we need to ask Delta for more room . . .
I personally see no reason to ask because it would be unreasonable to say no. What if somebody says, "No!"
I would ask out of human decency. There have been times on flights where someone reclined their seat so far back, I could not open my tray table to place my drink.
The key is to never recline smoothly. Just randomly flail to keep the person behind you off balance.
I have never once had someone ask me if it’s okay. I normally only do it if it’s a flight where everyone is sleeping (red eye or intercontinental) but I think it’s bs that there’s all these people out here asking and saying it’s basic common courtesy. Basic common courtesy is doing it slowly so you don’t smack the person behind you.
It's the airline's way of pitting passengers against each other, while it's the airline's fault the problem exists in the first place. Airfare didn't become cheaper once seats were smashed together even closer; the airlines made the business decision to maximize profit per unit of available space.
That being said, I never ask if it's okay to recline. Why?
1) I have literally never had someone do the same for me, yet plenty of people recline in front of me.
2) I cannot count how many times I have been seated next to an overweight person whose body spills into my seat. Do I get a discount or even an apology for any of that? Of course not.
3) I am paying for the seat, including the reclining option. I should not have to ask other customers' permission for what to do with my purchase.
Now, if I were seated in front of a very tall person who politely asked me to put my seat back up? Sure. But it's not a one size fits all situation.
TL;DR: I paid for the seat.
Overreacting
Not flying delta remove seats
I always did that anyway....doesn’t seem so crazy to me. Imagine being slightly considerate of the people around you instead of focusing only on your own comfort
It’s more of a warning than an asking of explicit permission....kind of like when you “request” vacation when it’s really just you telling your manager you’re going on vacation lol
