At a previous job I worked with a lot of gossips and a few characters who always wanted to bring the drama. And I know the feeling of trying to stay out of it and somehow just having people tell me stuff and trying to implicate me in their pointless nonsense. It can come off as rude, but you just have to tell people you do not care and will never care about whatever they've got cooking. Over time they may think you're a stiff, but they will leave you out of it.

Ugh it’s so ridiculous!
One of the perks of being in the "big office" is that nobody comes to you with their personal dramas. I learned when I was in the ranks not to be forced to "take sides" or "give advice." I learned that by having three-fourths of my butt bitten off by my good intentions coming back to bite me. I decided whenever one of those conversations came my way, I would ask the one posing the question, "I have a question for you. What's the difference between ignorance and apathy?" If they responded, "What is the difference?" I would say, "I don't know and I don't care." Most caught the joke, a few should probably consider changing to a profession where lives aren't hanging in the balance.
